In the 1760s, Edward Fell laid out the maritime community, Fell's Point, and sold individual plots at the request of a young merchant named Robert Long. Then, in 1765, Robert Long built what is now the oldest surviving urban residence in Baltimore. Located a block from the docks in Fell's Point, the house has been authentically restored to its colonial appearance and is furnished with antiques and furniture that date back to the pre-Revolutionary period.
